On September 19, 2019, the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Taskforce launched the Employment Equity Video Series and the first video, Call to Action on Employment Equity, at Humber’s Strategic Plan Town Hall Meeting. Employment Equity related videos are one of the many mechanisms that the EDI Taskforce will be using to illustrate senior leaderships’ commitment to increase the hiring of qualified diverse individuals at Humber.

The second video in this series, What does Employment Equity mean to you?, features Farzad Rayegani, Senior Dean, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology.

To view the video, please visit Humber’s Employment Equity Program website.

On behalf of Ian Crookshank, Dean of Students, and I, deep thanks to the EDI Taskforce members.

Humberthropocene Garbage Mosaic

Humber Galleries has partnered with the Office of Sustainability to collect clean recycling and garbage waste from Humber for a new large scale artwork being installed in the LRC Concourse (former North Space Gallery). Material collection will be ongoing until January 13. Look out for drop off boxes in various offices around both campuses or drop off your collected waste to E103 at North or A116B at Lakeshore.

Toronto artist Anya Mielniczek will be using the waste collected from offices, programs, and the overall campuses to create a bright, large scale mural representing the faculties at Humber and the range of activities that occur on campus that generate waste. All are welcome to join Anya and Humber Galleries between January 13-17 to be a part of building this new installation in the LRC Concourse.
