Please complete the Employment Equity Questionnaire

Humber College is committed to principles of equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Employment Equity is a program legislated by the Federal Employment Equity Act to remove barriers to employment for Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities and women. Humber includes sexual minorities as part of its overall equity program, including employment equity. All Humber employees’ participation is important.

The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Diversity is inviting all faculty, support staff and administration to complete the revised Employment Equity Questionnaire. The information that is provided in the Employment Equity Questionnaire will be kept confidential. We are requesting that you encourage the staff in your School or Department to take a few minutes to complete the confidential questionnaire.

To access the questionnaire:

Our dedicated supplier of Humber merchandise, Accolade Promotion Group (APG), was recently acquired by Staples Promotional Products.

This exciting acquisition will allow Humber access to even more resources and product solutions, as well as the cost advantages of a partner with global purchasing power.

Rest assured that as this transition materializes you will continue to work with your current Account Consultant, Stephanie Spratt, for all of your promotional merchandise projects.

How Will this Benefit Humber?
As a customer of Staples Promotional Products, Humber can expect to benefit from the infrastructure of the world’s largest promotional company, while continuing to receive the dedicated and focused customer service that we have come to expect from APG.

As the teams from Staples Promotional Products and APG integrate, Humber will benefit from a broader focus on social, safety, and environmental compliance. Additionally, with the global purchasing power of Staples Promotional Products, we will benefit from the most competitive pricing in the marketplace.

What Will Change?
Stephanie Spratt’s email and contact information will be updated in due course, but for now it remains unchanged. She can be reached at SSpratt@Accoladepg.com, and 1-800-450-6452 ext. 467. When her new contact information is available, you will be promptly informed. To ensure a smooth transition, once this change materializes, Stephanie’s former email address and phone number will continue to forward to her new contact information.

For accounting purposes, we will continue to receive invoices from APG for the time being. As APG transitions to new platforms, your invoices will be from Staples Promotional Products.

The APG brand will be phased out, and as of January 2016 you can expect to see only Staples Promotional Products.

For further information, please reach out to your Account Consultant.

The School of Applied Technology Work Placement Office hosted an Employer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, October 23. The event was a "thank you" to our many employers who supported our Diploma students during their work placement term.

"Employers do more than provide experience and wages" said Janice Wojcik, Manager of Work Placement Services. "For many of our students, the work term is their first opportunity to work in their field of study and realize the possibilities that await. Providing students with a positive vision of their future is invaluable, and we are deeply grateful to our employers for being such great mentors and coaches."

Welcoming remarks were also provided by Denise Devlin-Li, Dean of Applied Technology and the Associate Deans, and, employers had the opportunity to meet all the Diploma Program Coordinators. The highlight of the event was hearing from two students who shared their work term experiences and thanked the employers on behalf of all the School's work placement students.

Overall, the event was a great success. Employers in attendance included 407 East Construction/SNC Lavalin Partnership, Black and McDonald, Club Coffee, D&V Electronics, Energy@Work, Gordon R. Williams Corp, Hatch Mott Macdonald, Home Depot of Canada, MHPM Project Managers, Multimatic Inc, Mytox/Div Magna, PCL Constructors, Soheil Mosun, Toronto Hydro, Union Lighting and York Regional Police.
