The University of Guelph-Humber is excited to welcome our partners from EY, Rakuten Kobo, and RSM Canada to discuss their organization’s EDI framework and how this supports recruitment, employee well-being, and company culture.

This session will support equity deserving groups by having a presentation and open dialogue with each organization focused on opportunities and programming for students and young professionals who identify as black, indigenous, people of colour (BIPOC), as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community, neurodiverse populations, and people who have visible/non-visible disabilities.

The goal of this EDI panel session is to facilitate an environment where students feel seen and supported through opportunities, as well as provide a space for all students to have a dialogue in a safe and inclusive space.

This is a virtual event on MS Teams.

  • To explore ways of addressing institutional policies and practices (educating for an anti-racist/anti-oppressive future)

Math and Research Community of Practice banner

The Math and Research Community of Practice (CoP) is pleased to invite you to its first event this fall term! Join us as we explore SilverDecisions, an impressive open-source software for creating and analyzing decision trees.

For creating and analyzing decision trees, some of our faculty have recently switched their attention from TreePlan Decision Tree Excel Add-in to an open-source SilverDecisions software. It seems that this switch has worked out perfectly as both students and our faculty members are happy for this change. The first meeting is dedicated to exploring the basic and advance potentials of this software.

Our guests for this meeting is professor Bogumił Kamiński, associate professor and Head of the Decision Analysis and Support Unit at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, and his team. They have developed SilverDecisions software for creating and analyzing decision trees.

For this meeting, they will talk about “Building decision trees and using variables and functions in SilverDecisions”. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

Human Rights Education and Training Team

The Ontario Human Rights Commission requires that all employers provide ongoing education and training on the organization’s
human rights policy. All Humber employees (full-time, non-full-time, work-study) are required to update their knowledge of Humber’s Human Rights Policy and Complaint Resolution Procedures every two years.

Goal of the workshop:

Increase and reinforce Humber and University of Guelph-Humber employees’ understanding of Humber’s Human Rights Policy and Humber’s Human Rights Complaint Resolution Procedures, and their implications for enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in order to advance employees’ feelings of belonging.

Please note the following:

  • All Humber employees who have attended a Humber Human Rights Training session prior to December 2021 are required to refresh their knowledge of Humber’s Human Rights Policy and Complaint Resolution Procedures by undergoing an updated training. It is important to note that the policy is being revised and you will also have an opportunity to provide input at the educational sessions.
  • Registration space is limited. Please do not sign up for more than one session in order to leave space for other registrants.
  • To facilitate your attendance, Human Rights Training sessions will be offered through an Eventbrite online registration process available at the registration link below each session.
  • Please note whether the session is marked as an "Open Session" which means it is open to all Humber Employees or a "Closed Session" and is therefore only open to a select group of employees.
