Treaties Recognition Week takes place the first week of November to honour the importance of treaties and encourage Ontarians to learn about treaty rights and relationships. During this week, Humber’s Indigenous Education and Engagement and Humber Libraries’ will highlight resources to support treaty education as we acknowledge treaty rights, responsibilities and relationships.

Each November, Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast celebrate the importance of accessing meaningful work and all those that help us in connecting with our preferred futures. Canada Career Month works to advance the agenda of improving access to career services and education so that all Canadians are better prepared to develop their careers and transition into the emergent labour market.
Join Humber College as we host our first-ever Virtual Career Month in November 2020, with a calendar full of events for students, including:

- mock interview sessions
- entrepreneurship workshops hosted by our Centre for Entrepreneurship

- Constructing compelling grant proposals
- Understanding the peer review process
- Common pitfalls/ weaknesses in proposals

They will share their experiences, ideas, and creative solutions to this new online world we are now in. How do they build community online? What assessment approaches are they using? How much synchronous vs asynchronous sessions are they delivering? This is a chance to hear from and connect with colleagues from across the college. Humber students and staff have joined these sessions from the comfort of their home. This session that I will be conducting for ED-Venture week is completely in sync with Humber’s strategy towards employee well-being and engagement. The core value of this session is to help participants discover the power of breath to relieve stress, ease anxiety and boost their immune system in a free interactive online session. |
