Human Rights Education and Training Team

The Ontario Human Rights Commission requires that all employers provide ongoing education and training on the organization’s
human rights policy. All Humber employees (full-time, non-full-time, work-study) are required to update their knowledge of Humber’s Human Rights Policy and Complaint Resolution Procedures every two years.

Goal of the workshop:

Increase and reinforce Humber and University of Guelph-Humber employees’ understanding of Humber’s Human Rights Policy and Humber’s Human Rights Complaint Resolution Procedures, and their implications for enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in order to advance employees’ feelings of belonging.

Please note the following:

  • All Humber employees who have attended a Humber Human Rights Training session prior to December 2021 are required to refresh their knowledge of Humber’s Human Rights Policy and Complaint Resolution Procedures by undergoing an updated training. It is important to note that the policy is being revised and you will also have an opportunity to provide input at the educational sessions.
  • Registration space is limited. Please do not sign up for more than one session in order to leave space for other registrants.
  • To facilitate your attendance, Human Rights Training sessions will be offered through an Eventbrite online registration process available at the registration link below each session.
  • Please note whether the session is marked as an "Open Session" which means it is open to all Humber Employees or a "Closed Session" and is therefore only open to a select group of employees.

Humber's commitment to innovation has been exemplified by creating the Centres of Innovation (COI) Network. Across the Network, our five COIs —Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation, Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship, Centre for Creative Business Innovation, Centre for Innovation in Health & Wellness and the Centre for Social Innovation—offer a unique experiential learning opportunity for students to collaborate with faculty members, community and industry partners to tackle real-world challenges. By emphasizing innovation, creativity and interdisciplinary cooperation, the COIs allow our students to practice the skills they have learned in the classroom that are essential for their future success, enabling them to become strategic problem solvers and innovators.

This town hall will introduce and reintroduce our COIs, you will hear from each COIs director and how faculty members and staff can engage throughout the Network to help Humber continue to prepare the next generation of innovators.

Are you up for an interactive, virtual adventure? Take a trip to exotic locations and inspiring destinations. You’ll also have a chance to win great prizes!

About the Artist:

Mary began her journey as a Canadian artist when she landed in Toronto from her hometown in Ceprano, Italy at age six. Her love for mixed media arts surfaced from a young age where she nurtured and developed her artistic expression through classes and private lessons. Often the work of Mary’s hands comes from an outpouring of her heart onto canvas. Mary seeks to tell a story with her pieces, offering glimpses of peace, serenity, relaxation, inspiration, and deeper meaning. With the use of different mediums such as acrylic, watercolour, charcoal, ink, oil pastels along with a touch of expression and imagination, her paintings are created.

Most of Mary’s pieces are based on her experience of the locations she has traveled to, allowing viewers to immerse themselves into the work of art rather than simply observing. Her work enables people to discover destinations through art, as it serves as a portal for reimagining places, cultures, and journeys. She states: “As we explore a foreign city or immerse ourselves in the culture of a different country, we’ll taste new foods, try new experiences, and indulge in a bit of decadence.”
