WHOOO WHOOOO is up for a night time search adventure?

If you haven't guessed by now, we will be on the prowl for owls. Learn their calls, what they like to eat, how to tell if an owl is roosting in a particular spot and dispel some of the myths you may have heard.

For example, did you know owls cannot actually rotate their head 360º?

With five different species that call the Arboretum home at this time of year, including the great horned, long eared and screech owls. There is much to be learned and who knows maybe much to be seen.

Here's an interestingl video of an arboretum staff member (Grizzly's) encounter with an owl: www.youtube.com/watch?v=228RZ2GHrNg.

Education in the 21st century is changing and has changed. We are moving from teacher-centered to learner-centered modes and andragogical techniques. We are experiencing a movement from: face-to-face to digital engagement, synchronous to asynchronous, individual to peer-to-peer learning. Technology has increased access and can enhance the learning experience.

As we build our teaching and learning capabilities in these areas, we also need to re-build and revision our current and future learning spaces. This is an opportunity to talk about the classroom of the future.

Please be part of the re-visioning of our physical classroom space. Bring your creativity to these town hall meetings and contribute your ideas to the future design of classroom spaces at Humber College.

In this exhibit, the graduating students of the Theatre Production program at Humber College have used the motifs and styles from Egyptian art and folklore to expand their knowledge of a culture as well as practical methods of construction in costume, scenic paint, properties and carpentry.

This exhibit runs from December 17, 2013 - January 14, 2014.
