Not far away, there is a small lighthouse standing there, looking at the calm lake. I like the calm and sunshine very much, this scene is worth recording with my camera. 2022 Yuexin He Advertising - Media Management IGS- International Graduate School Email

I raised my camera to record this peaceful moment. Due to my habit of composition, I centered the pigeon in the middle of the frame. The moment I pressed the shutter, another pigeon flew over, and I waited for it to coincide with the ground. The shutter was pressed when the pigeons aligned. What a wonderful coincidence! 2022 Yuexin He Advertising - Media Management IGS- International Graduate School Email

Lawren Harris’, 1930 Davis Strait Is a painting I connected with at a young age. It holds a quiet mystery and connection to the Canadian landscape for me. This connection to the Group of Seven, to painting, to nature, and to driving north to camp with my family have been constants in my upbringing.
In this last year, I made my first trip to Europe, which was an expansive experience for me. In this painting, I have imposed a Van Gogh sky in the background of Harris’ iconic view of the North, bringing together these two continents, both on canvas, and within myself.

His gaze at me is open and familiar. Our lives are a bit more complicated now, as is our relationship, as we move into young adulthood. One of the best parts about portraiture is the constant back-and-forth connection between the subject and the drawing. Like a brother and sister growing up together, it is a tight bond, for a short time. 2022 Olivia Todd Bachelor of Design North Social Media

Colour Photography Digital Photography 10 x 9 x 7 Original Piece Sunsets are beautiful and I love taking photos of them in different locations. I took this photo in Jamaica last year during winter break. The colour of the sky was filled with beautiful shades of red and orange and I felt inspired to take a picture. As a woman myself I have gone through many phases of inadequacy, body dysmorphia, and other traumatic instances that have affected my overall self esteem and confidence. Within the figure there are two faces, the inner face represents the wounded inner child, and the outer face represents the adult woman that tries to be strong but is still wounded herself. She lays in a fetal position to self-soothe. Her bed is one of the only places where she feels truly safe. The shadow of the hand symbolizes shame looming over her and the red is up for interpretation. 2022 Maya Iraheta Visual and Digital Arts Lakeshore Faculty/Staff, Word of Mouth, Email 07-03-2022
