Most of the time its whatever is happening around me, people, their lifestyles, their perceptions I see, stop, observe and i draw thumbnail sketches to recreate, sometime i just keep it in my head. 691 Fri, 03/10/2023 - 19:24 Anonymous 142.214.240.6 Oasis Monochromatic Photography Digital Photography 8x10.5 Original Piece The use of colour and shadows has always defined my work, I like playing with the absence of information throughout my photos, so I can only show the parts of the subject I wish to highlight.
My photos are lit by a strobe, helping me retain the texture and details of the subject.
I’ve always loved capturing human figures, as I find it mesmerizing to look at them in a different and unusual way.
I find that the most interesting part of an image is not the subject, but what is around it, because that is what gives the context and feel of the artwork.
Oasis, the name if this photo, is one that I want to take since I first started my journey as a professional photographer. I find that the human body is of great beauty and when you take only a part of it, you can see deserts, oceans, or grasslands.
This photo depicts the way we can be in tune with nature, with the natural resources and animals around us, the way we can nurture the animals as they can heal us.

I aimed to create a diptych that looks like film stills taken from a movie. This diptych was designed to tell the story of the last encounter between two individuals. I took this photo of amateur theatre players after watching the rehearsals of their play. The game they played was improvised. We were watching these two people swirl around each other trying to find something and coalesce into one. The psychological terms and approaches I have learned since I started getting therapy inspire the artworks I produce. I continued to express myself by producing art in each therapy session where I discovered myself more.
Being an international student and having the courage to get away from home and loved ones is one of the defining aspects of me, yes. However, what is felt on the other side of the coin is not always positive. Feeling like helpless, imposter, and selfish is also a part of this process. Every day above ground should be a blessing but for some it may feel like a burden. When I viewed life through the lens of a camera I started to find different perspectives which ultimately saved my life. By employing the Zeigarnik effect I aimed to create an image that makes the viewer uneasy all while keeping the subject anonymous.
