Applying to the Salesperson Program

The program is not eligible for OSAP as it does not receive any direct provincial funding.

The learning path for the Real Estate Salesperson Program follows the flow of a real estate transaction. It weaves in key legal elements while giving learners a mix of theory and practical knowledge. This will better enable new registrants to navigate a real estate transaction on behalf of buyers and sellers from day one.

  • The program begins with Real Estate Essentials. It lays out the role of a salesperson in relation to their obligations as defined in the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act or REBBA, including the Code of Ethics, and other (non-REBBA) relevant legislation.
  • The next course covers the Residential Real Estate Transaction including the processes for buying, selling, listing, and completing residential real estate transactions. The course also covers marketing strategies and the preparation of contracts.
  • The Additional Residential Real Estate Transactions course applies the content from the Residential Real Estate Transaction course to other types of residential transactions, including condominiums; new construction; rural properties; residential multi-family dwellings; and residential leasing.
  • The Commercial Real Estate Transaction course will then detail the unique requirements for buying, selling, and listing commercial properties as well as brokering the sale of businesses.
  • The Getting Started course will give future registrants an overview of how to begin their career in real estate. Topics include information on obtaining and maintaining registration and insurance, and strategies for selecting a brokerage for employment.

Learners can sign up and start the program at any point while selecting sessions from the course calendar that best meets their needs. The Real Estate Salesperson Program will not run on a semester or term basis.

Post-Registration is the final phase of the Real Estate Salesperson Program. Learners must complete Post-Registration to be eligible to renew their registration at the end of their initial two-year registration cycle with RECO.

Yes. The Post-Registration Phase is mandatory. Learners must complete three courses - the mandatory compliance course along with additional two electives.

We encourage you to do your best to complete the Post-Registration Phase within your initial two-year registration cycle. If you are unable to do so your registration will lapse and you will be unable to trade. Please contact RECO’s Education Department for more information.

No. If you are eligible to complete your articling requirements at the OREA Real Estate College, you may do so until your first registration renewal date, but no later than June 11, 2021 when the College will cease course delivery. RECO will recognize any articling course completed at any time- either prior or after your initial registration. The articling requirement is the completion of one elective course of your choice. All elective course options are available online at OREA. You are encouraged to plan your studies accordingly to ensure you complete your articling requirements prior to June 11, 2021.

We encourage you to do your best to complete the Articling phase of the OREA Real Estate College. You have until June 11, 2021 to do complete as the College will cease delivery.

If you are unable to complete the Articling requirement with OREA, you will have to complete the full Post-Registration Phase at Humber, consisting of one mandatory course and two elective courses, before the end of your first registration cycle. Please contact RECO’s Education Department for more information.

Learners will require a reliable internet connection, a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and speakers, and a private room to test. Additionally, all learners must download the Guardian Browser to use the ProctorU platform. Visit the ProctorU website for a full list of technical requirements.

You will receive a confirmation email from our online testing partner (ProctorU) with further instructions. On your scheduled test date and time, login to the link provided and click Start Session to begin the testing process. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to a proctor. You will require a photo ID to present to the proctor at the time of your test. Note that the set-up process will take a few minutes as you will be required to review and acknowledge the exam rules, perform a system check, and complete room scans that must be approved by the proctor. Learners testing online will be tested in the same manner as learners testing in person. All testing is completed online via a secure web connection. Learners will be monitored by a virtual proctor, who will be monitoring learners via their webcam. When you start your test, you will be required to show a photo ID and complete a room scan, so the proctor can verify there is no one around and you do not have access to unauthorized materials. The test will end should academic integrity be compromised. You may also be asked to complete additional room scans should concerns arise, such as people entering the space you are testing in, talking to other people, or glancing away from your computer screen.

All vouchers have an expiration date. Learners must book their test PRIOR to the expiration date of the voucher. Please review your voucher email for the expiration date. Learners who fail to test prior to the voucher expiration date will be required to rebook and repay for their admission exam.

Vouchers are valid for 90 days. Once they expire, they cannot be extended. A new exam will need to be purchased if your voucher expires.

You can reschedule your test no less than 24 hours prior to your appointment. Learners who fail to reschedule their appointment up to 24 hours prior to their booked date/time, will be responsible for rebooking and repaying for their exam again. Test vouchers do expire and should you not test within the valid voucher dates, you will have to rebook and repay for your online test.

Up to 24 hours prior to your test date/time, you can sign back into the online test provider’s web portal, cancel your existing booking, and reschedule to a date and time that works for you.

Simulation Session

The simulation assessment is part of the Simulation Session course registration. Learners can drop from the course using the Learner Portal. See: How to Drop/Transfer from a Course Section.

Log in to the Learner Portal to view your My Current Courses list. Click on the Simulation Session to view the schedule details for the facilitated sessions. For the confirmed date and location of the Simulation session assessment, refer to the My Exams list in the Learner Portal.

Applying to the Broker Program

The Real Estate Broker Program is for real estate salespersons who have been active in the industry and aspire to continue their education to become a real estate broker. The program covers key aspects involved in owning, managing, or operating a real estate brokerage, such as:

  • Opening a brokerage
  • The responsibilities of a broker of record
  • The business and administrative aspects involved in running a brokerage
  • Examining relevant parts of the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA) from the perspective of a broker and brokerage compliance.

The Real Estate Broker Program is open to all existing registered real estate salespersons. To qualify for the Real Estate Broker Program, an individual must be an active real estate salesperson currently registered with RECO and must successfully complete the Broker Qualifying Exam before getting started with the Real Estate Broker Program.

The Real Estate Broker Program learning path has three steps and seven components.

Step 1: Broker Qualifying Exam

Successful completion of the Broker Qualifying Exam is a requirement to start the Real Estate Broker Program. The exam is designed to test working knowledge on the key areas involved in the trading of real estate in Ontario and is three hours in duration.

Step 2: eLearning Courses, Interactive Session and Final Exam

Upon completing Step 1, learners are eligible to start Course 1 of the Real Estate Broker Program. This step includes the following components which must be completed sequentially:

  • Four eLearning courses:
    • Course 1: Planning and Start-up eLearning
    • Course 2: Business Management – eLearning
    • Course 3: Human Resources – eLearning
    • Course 4: Ongoing Oversight - eLearning
  • The Wrap-Up session
    • Wrap-up Session – Bringing it all Together
  • The Broker Final Exam

Step 3: Register with RECO

Upon completing Step 2, learners are eligible to register with RECO as a broker. To register with RECO, an individual must have successfully completed the Real Estate Broker Program and have been employed as a salesperson for at least 24 of the 36 months immediately preceding the date of application.

The estimated duration of the Real Estate Broker Program is as follows. Actual course work duration will vary per individual learner.

  • Broker Qualifying Exam – 3 hours
  • Course work (estimated):
    • Planning and Start-Up – 10 hours
    • Business Management – 10 hours
    • Human Resources – 10 hours
    • Ongoing Oversight – 12 hours
  • Wrap up – Bringing It All Together – 14 hours over two days, excluding lunch and breaks
  • Broker Final Exam – 3 hours

Note: We monitor learner demand daily for proctored and facilitated sessions and add seats in keeping with resource and timeline considerations. Scheduling decisions involve, for example, advanced planning for proctors or facilitators. Once sections are full, they do not appear on the registration system. We hope that the above scheduling insights will help build understanding that there may be ‘buffer’ time required between program elements while keeping in mind the pre-requisite structure. The Real Estate Broker Program must be completed in 12 months from the successful completion of the qualifying exam. It is the responsibility of the learner to track and meet all requirements. See: RECO Registration Policies.

The Real Estate Broker Program follows a “Pay as You Go” structure, meaning you pay for each course in sequential order. Please visit the Broker Program Fees page to learn more.

Though both programs provide the core information necessary to be a broker, the Real Estate Broker Program has added focus on content beyond the legal obligations of being a broker and a wrap-up session facilitated by experienced brokers. A differentiating feature of the program delivered by Humber is the introduction of the Broker Qualifying Exam. The purpose of this exam is to ensure mastery of sales-related concepts. This allows the program to focus on concepts relating to brokerage operations, management, and leadership.

The Broker Qualifying Exam is designed to test the salesperson's working knowledge on the key areas involved in the trading of real estate in Ontario, of which a practicing real estate salesperson should be aware.

The purpose of the exam is to ensure the salesperson has a strong foundational knowledge of their current obligations before learning about the obligations of a broker of record.

Yes. The Broker Qualifying Exam is the same for all applicants.

No. Successful completion of the Broker Qualifying Exam is required for admission into the Real Estate Broker Program.

If a potential Learner does not pass the Broker Qualifying Exam, they have the option to attempt the exam again by rescheduling and repurchasing. For more information about Exams Rewrites please visit our Examination Policy.

The Wrap Up Session helps learners put theory into practice and understand what a day in the life of a real estate broker is like. The Wrap Up Session is a simulation-based experience led by practicing real estate brokers and is designed to reinforce compliant practices involved in owning, operating, or managing a brokerage.

If a Learner does not pass the Broker Final Exam, they have the option to attempt the final exam again by rescheduling and repurchasing. For more information about rewriting exams please visit our Examination Policy.

Fee Increase FAQs

The Real Estate Salesperson Program and the Real Estate Broker Program are both pay as you go, meaning learners pay for each component of the program as you progress through the program instead of paying the total program fees all at once. The prerequisite structure of each of these programs requires successful completion of one component before eligibility is granted to register in the next component. The fee increase applies to all learners, current and future, that register for an exam, or simulation session with start dates as of January 1, 2025, or later.

All learners must follow the prerequisite structure of the program and therefore cannot preregister or pay for any program component for which they are not eligible. Successful completion of each program component is required before registration in the next. Fee increases will only apply to registrations in exam and simulation session sections with start dates of January 1, 2025, or later.

The fee increases apply to all exams or simulation sessions with a start date of January 1, 2025, or later. For example, if you are completing a registration for a simulation session in December and the start date is in December, then the current fee applies. However, if you select a start date in January, then the fee increase will apply.

The program office monitors learner demand and adds sessions in keeping with resource and timeline considerations. Virtually proctored exams are available 7 days a week with various times slot. In-person exams are available in test center locations across the province with varied availability. Exams are not scheduled at any location, virtual or in-person, during any holiday closures. Learners are encouraged to check the exam registration schedule regularly for the most up to date information.

The program office monitors learner demand and adds sessions in keeping with resource and timeline considerations. Simulations are offered in weekday or weekend options. Simulation sessions are not scheduled during any holiday closure. Learners are encouraged to check the simulation session registration schedule regularly for the most up to date information.

Course Information

Learners can drop from the course using the Learner Portal. See: How to Drop/Transfer from a Course Section

Once the request for a drop is complete, go to My Account History for details of any applicable refunds.

Learners will not have access to drop a course using the Learner Portal within seven (7) days of the start date of the course.

Important Note: Learners that choose not to continue with the course will receive an Incomplete on their transcripts.

Learners can transfer from one section to another using the Learner Portal.

Once the transfer is complete, go to My Account History for details of any applicable refunds.

An error message may appear for the following reasons:

  • Learner does not have an Approved Application. To check the status of your application, log into the Learner Portal, go to My Applications to view standing.
  • Learner has not successfully completed/pass the prerequisite examination to be eligible to register for the subsequent course. To ensure you meet the prerequisite for course registration, log into the Learner Portal, go to My Enrollment History to view exam status.

Yes. Course materials remain available for 12 months upon completion of the Course, provided that you completed that Course within the access timeframe.

As of Thursday, March 12, 2020, when you log into the Learner Portal and access your eLearning Courses, you will see that Courses have a First Access Date, a Recommended Completion Date, and a Last Access Date.

Since Humber College began delivering the Real Estate Salesperson Program last fall, we have identified opportunities to improve the learner experience. This has included improved access to and availability of Course materials along with Course completion timelines. By changing the current end date to a recommended completion date and extending the Course access dates, our aim is to provide you with more flexibility for your schedule as you manage your progress and to reduce the need for extension requests.

Learners are encouraged to manage their progress and work towards recommended completion timing. The last access date is extra buffer time already provided to learners. No additional extensions will be provided. Learners that do not complete within the last access date timeframe will need to re-purchase the course.

Content Support Desk (CSD) facilitators are available from Monday to Saturday to help you with course content, concepts and/or topics. To reach a CSD facilitator call 416-675-5025 or 1-888-626-3090 (Toll Free); select option 6.

If a CSD facilitator is unavailable leave a voicemail message that includes:

  • Your name, learner ID#, and phone number
  • What day/time you would prefer to have the facilitator return your call
  • The course/module/lesson/page number that your question(s) pertain to

and a CSD facilitator will be in contact with you as soon as one is available.

Exam Information

Log into the Learner Portal and follow the steps below: 

  1. Login to the Learner Portal  
  2. Navigate to the course/exam registration page, select the required exam, and click Register Now
  3. Select an exam filter(s) to narrow down your search. 
  4. View date and time availability for your selected filters. 
  5. Click on the Register button for the desired date.  
  6. Click on Book Exam for the exam in the cart. 
  7. Click on Select an Exam Centre
  8. Choose an Exam Centre from the dropdown list.   
  9. Click Next
  10. Click on the available date displayed on the calendar. 
  11. Select a Timeslot. 
  12. Click on Book Timeslot
  13. Click on the (?) icon beside the exam name to verify the date, time, and location that was booked for the exam before proceeding to payment. 
  14. Click Checkout 
  15. Scroll down to read and agree to the Attestation and Policy Confirmation. 
  16. Click Continue Checkout to take you to the payment processor.   
  17. Enter payment details and click Checkout to complete your transaction. 

To confirm an exam booking, log into the Learner Portal, and select My Exams. You will be able to verify your exam date and time, and the location of the booking.

An error message may appear for the following reasons:

  • Learner has not successfully completed the prerequisite course prior to an exam booking. To ensure you have completed the course, log into the Learner Portal, go to My Enrollment History to view course status.
  • There are pending purchases in your shopping cart. To rectify this, log into the Learner Portal to clear any pending purchases. Once the cart is clear, you can proceed with an exam purchase.

  • Learners can drop or reschedule an exam up to seven (7) days prior to the exam date; an administrative fee of $50.00 will apply
  • Any drop or reschedule requests made less than seven (7) days in advance prior to the exam date are non-refundable

Learners can cancel an exam booking using the Learner Portal.

  1. In the top menu of the website, click on the green login button and select Learner Portal
  2. Click continue
  3. Once you’ve logged in, click to the left where it says my enrollment history
  4. After this, pleases click on the tab that says completed
  5. Scroll down to select the exam for which you want to access a report
  6. Look for the link that says click here to access the exam
  7. A new window will open up
  8. Here select the tab that says past
  9. To the right, you will see the exam report available for the exam in question
  10. Click on the exam report
  11. You can now review the exam report for the exam you selected

Virtual Proctoring

The program office monitors learner demand daily and add sessions in keeping with resource and timeline considerations.  Learners are encouraged to check the exam registration schedule regularly as spots may become available. If learners notice a new section has opened, they may opt to transfer from an existing section registration to a newly opened section. However, please note that a $50 administration fee does apply to all transfers. For more information, please visit the Fees, Payments & Refunds Policy.

A proctored exam is supervised by an approved, neutral person (a proctor) who confirms the identity of the test taker and the integrity of the test taking environment. Virtual proctoring allows for the same level of supervision to occur online, facilitated by online monitoring software, including the use of a webcam.

Proctortrack is the virtual proctoring provider for the Real Estate Salesperson Education Program. Proctortrack's live remote proctoring solution provides the highest level of exam integrity. To find out more about Proctortrack and their live proctoring solution please visit their website at proctortrack.com.

The Proctortrack Mobile App is an application available on the App Store (iOS phone) or Play Store (Android) required during a virtually proctored exam. The mobile phone will be used to complete the room scan when checking in with the proctor. It will also be used as a second camera to monitor learners during the exam. The use of the Proctortrack Mobile App is mandatory during all virtually proctored exams.

Humber takes the privacy of learner information seriously and it is of paramount importance for every learner in all aspects and parts of the Real Estate Education programs.

Personal information is collected and used solely for the purposes of verifying a learner's identity and providing online proctoring while protecting academic integrity. Proctortrack’s privacy policy can be found here.

Learners are required to have the following equipment and Internet connection to take their exam:

  • Desktop computer or laptop. (Tablets, Chromebook and cell phones do not meet the requirements for virtual proctoring.)
  • Webcam (resolution 800 x 600 or better)
  • Microphone and speakers
  • Keyboard
  • Mouse
  • High speed Internet connection (Cable Modem, DSL or better - 900 kbps download, 600 kbps upload)
  • Operating System: MacOS High Sierra 10.13 or higher; PC:  Windows 8 or higher
  • Processor/RAM: MAC - Intel/AMD Processor, 8 GB RAM; PC: Dual-core 2.4 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM or better
  • Browsers: Google Chrome v25.0 or higher
  • Plug-ins: Javascript enabled and third-party cookies enabled
  • A smart phone to complete a room scan and to act as a second camera during exams
    • Android OS version 6.0 or later or
    • iOS 11.0 or later
    • Rear-facing camera

No. iPads and tablets are not acceptable devices to use for your exam, a laptop or desktop computer with the above requirements is mandatory.

No. They must be disconnected from the computer and turned away or covered during the exam.

You will be required to complete an onboarding process within the Proctortrack system prior to your scheduled exam date. This process will verify/check your computer hardware compatibility with Proctortrack and provide the opportunity to troubleshoot any issues.

A virtually proctored exam is scheduled the same way as an exam at a test centre. Review the options on the website and click register for the selected date. Once the exam is in the cart, book the timeslot by selecting the Book Exam button in the cart.

An email will be sent out following your exam registration and booking with the exam rules and onboarding instructions. First time exam writers will receive a second email sent directly from Proctortrack with your Proctortrack system username and password. Expect the Proctortrack email to be delivered up to 2 business days after exam registration and booking.

  • A valid government photo identification (e.g. driver’s license, permanent resident card, passport). Health cards are not acceptable. The proctor will need to see a photo ID to verify your identity. You cannot write the exam without presenting valid identification.
  • Your Proctortrack username and password.
  • Your program login credential, username and password, as you will be required to login to the learner portal to access your exam.
  • Your smart phone, with the Proctortrack mobile app downloaded and ready to use to complete the room scan and to use as a second camera during the exam.
  • Your desk area must be free of books, paper and electronic devices (i.e. another computer/laptop).

The standard exam fee listed on humber.ca/realestate applies to all exams, for all delivery methods. No additional costs are incurred for the virtually proctored option.

You should complete the onboarding steps prior to the exam day. On the day of your exam, access the Proctortrack link provided to you at the scheduled exam time to complete the identification verification and to secure the testing environment. You will not be able to start the process before the scheduled time. Refresh often to ensure that the Go To Test button is available at the scheduled time-slot.

No. The authentication process does not cut into your exam time. The timer on your exam does not start until you begin your exam.

Learners who miss their exam will be required to repurchase and rebook a new session through our website. Please note missed exams count as an attempt and will be a part of your Education Record.

The webcam is designed to monitor the immediate surroundings and ensure you are taking the exam by yourself in a secure testing environment.

You must be alone in a quiet room throughout the course of the exam. You cannot be in a public location where others are within speaking distance or may be able to walk into the room or where you can be distracted while taking your exam. The proctors will ask you to use the Proctortrack Mobile App to scan your surroundings.

All exam grades, regardless of delivery method, will be posted to your learner Education Record and accessible via the Learner Portal within three (3) days. Examination results are not disclosed by phone, email or in-person.

Once the session has started, you may not leave the camera view.

The proctor is not able to provide any answers or clarification regarding any content questions on your exam. However, the proctor will be available to answer any technical questions.

Upon suspicious activities a live Proctor will intervene and can provide a live remediation, live technical support or immediately suspend the test session if breaches to the test policies are confirmed.

Learners who have an accommodation are required to submit an Accommodation Request Form. Once submitted, the form will be reviewed and we will contact you to discuss and finalize arrangements. Requests for accommodations must be sent and confirmed prior to registration in an exam session. Accommodation requests are subject to approval.

Learners who have been approved and are in receipt of the Real Estate Salesperson Education Program – Accommodation Confirmation Letter should contact the program office prior to registration in an exam session to arrange accommodation.

If you encounter a technical problem, you can ask the proctor for help. You will be able to communicate with the proctor via chat at any time during your exam. If the proctor is unable to help you resolve the technical issue, you will be directed to contact the Proctortrack technical support line via live chat, phone or email.

Do not contact the Real Estate Education Program technical support line. Humber support does not have access to Proctortrack systems and are unable to assist with virtual proctoring.

A blue frame will appear around the screen to indicate that proctoring has begun and you are being monitored. After completing and submitting the exam, you may end proctoring and close/uninstall the Proctortrack application.

Interprovincial Challenge Exam

The Interprovincial Challenge Examination assesses a learner's knowledge of the laws that apply to trading real estate in Ontario. Upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Challenge Examination, qualified individuals may apply to RECO for registration as a salesperson or broker.

Please note: The Ontario Labour Mobility Act allows those who hold a valid real estate salesperson or broker licence in a qualifying Canadian province or territory the ability to write the Interprovincial Challenge Exam.

The Interprovincial Challenge Examination is available to licensed individuals who are registered or certified in real estate in an approved province or territory outside of Ontario.

The Interprovincial Challenge Examination focuses on the skills and competencies that may be Ontario specific, such as: Ontario laws, including real property law, commercial and residential real estate transactions in Ontario, and RECO’s governing legislation, the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA 2002).

Specifically, knowledge areas covered in the exam are:

  • Understanding REBBA and the Code of Ethics
  • REBBA, Code of Ethics, Agency Relationships, and Representation
  • Key Legislation and Regulations: Residential and Commercial – Fraud, Privacy, and Anti-Spam Legislation
  • REBBA and Key Legislation: Residential and Commercial – Property Legislation, Conditions, Rights, and Limitations

If a Learner fails the Examination, they must rebook and repay the full fees to schedule another attempt. 

Please note that you are allowed an unlimited number of attempts to pass the Interprovincial Challenge Examination. For more information about exams, please review our Examination Policy.

After passing the examination, learners will have 12 months to apply for registration with RECO.

Please note that although learners are given 12 months to register with RECO after passing the examination, to be eligible to register they must still meet requirements for registration under the Ontario Labour Mobility Act when submitting their application. This means that when a learner applies to RECO for registration, they must be currently registered/licensed in their originating jurisdiction. A learner will only qualify to apply if they meet the eligibility requirements.

Successful completion of the Interprovincial Challenge Examination allows qualified applicants to acquire registration with RECO in the equivalent category as the one currently registered to them in their originating jurisdiction(s). When applying for registration, RECO will (at that time) determine the applicant’s eligibility for salesperson or broker registration under REBBA 2002. The determining factor will be the category of registration/license held by the applicant in their originating jurisdiction at the time of application, and whether the registration/license category is “equivalent” to a salesperson or broker registration category, as defined under REBBA 2002.

Should a learner fail to apply for registration with RECO within 12 months of completing the Interprovincial Challenge Examination, they must retake the examination to again be eligible to apply to RECO for registration as a salesperson or broker. Extensions are not permitted.

Learners will only qualify to take the Interprovincial Challenge Examination if they are currently licensed, registered, or otherwise authorized to trade in real estate in one-or-more of the qualifying Canadian provinces or territories.

If a learner does not qualify to write the Interprovincial Challenge Examination, they may still be eligible to apply to RECO for education equivalency assessment. Please visit RECO’s Education Equivalency Assessment page for more information.

Transitioning & Credit

The current program with the OREA Real Estate College will run until March 31, 2021. Learners completing their pre-registration or articling courses with the OREA Real Estate College must complete all courses and examinations prior to this date.

Registrants with permanent registration will not be affected since they have already completed their registration education requirements. Registrants who are within their first registration cycle must complete their “articling” course requirement with the OREA Real Estate College prior to the earlier of March 31, 2021, or their registration renewal date. More information on the Real Estate Broker Program will follow.

RECO’s MCE program is not impacted by the new program.

If you have already started your training at the OREA Real Estate College, then you must complete all your courses and examinations with OREA. The current program will run until June 11, 2021. If you have previously taken courses and are wondering if they are still valid, you can speak with OREA or apply to RECO to have your prior learning assessed through the education equivalency assessment application process. Please contact RECO for information when you are ready to resume the program.

If you are eligible to complete your articling requirements at the OREA Real Estate College, you may do so until your first registration renewal date, but no later than June 11, 2021, when the College will cease course delivery. RECO will recognize any articling course completed prior to your initial registration. The current articling requirement is completion of your choice of one elective course. All elective course options are available online. You are encouraged to plan your studies accordingly to ensure you complete your articling requirements within the timeline.

RECO will continue to administer an education equivalency assessment application process. Any course exceptions granted will be based on the merits of the individual's application. Click here for more information about the education equivalency assessment (EEA) process.

You can qualify to apply for education equivalency assessment if you have been licensed, registered, or otherwise authorized to trade in real estate, have completed a recognized real estate license or registration program, or if you have completed specific pre-registration courses at the OREA Real Estate College.

Current real estate brokers or salespersons from eligible Canadian jurisdictions must complete an Interprovincial Challenge Examination, before applying and paying applicable fees. See here for more information.

RECO may grant course credits for having completed a real estate license or registration program in another Canadian jurisdiction on the basis of an educational equivalency. There is an application process, and any exceptions are granted on a case by case basis. See here for more details.
