Tax Receipts

Get the documents you need to file your income tax returns and claim any eligible deductions related to your education. T2202 tuition tax receipts for courses taken and completed in 2024 will be available in the Learner Portal by February 28, 2025.

In compliance with Section 118.5 (1) of the Income Tax Act, receipts are only issued when total tuition fees for the tax period exceed $100.

    How To Access Your T2202 Tax Receipt

    • Log in to the Learner Portal
    • Click on My Profile in the side menu
    • Enter your SIN in the Social Insurance Number field (if you have not already done so). Click Save.
    • Click on Tax Receipt in the side menu.
    • Select the tax year from the drop-down.
    • Click Print Tax Receipt.
    • Ensure the T2202 receipt/form content is correct, and then print a copy for yourself.
    • Save the PDF to your computer for future reference.

    Additional T2202 Information

    • T2202 tax forms are issued to qualified students enrolled in a qualified education program or a specified education program.
    • Tax months are calculated based on the duration of education for the current year.
    • T2202s only include mandatory tuition fees.
    • The paid tuition amount must be greater than $100 to qualify for a T2202.
    • T2202 Tax Receipts are issued for eligible tuition for courses delivered in the corresponding tax year.
    • Tax receipt calculations are based on the course start and end dates in the learner portal.  Tax credit is prorated across multiple years when the start and end dates are in different years.
