Your Future as a Real Estate Salesperson

What Does a Real Estate Salesperson Do?

Real estate salespeople work with clients to buy, sell, or lease property. You’ll guide people through some of the most important decisions of their lives — from purchasing their first home to expanding their real estate portfolios. Success in this role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to life-long learning.

Real Estate Is a Regulated Profession in Ontario

The provincial government creates the legislation that governs real estate professionals in Ontario. The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO), Ontario’s regulator of real estate services,  enforces this legislation and oversees the conduct of real estate salespersons, brokers, and brokerages. All real estate professionals in the province must be registered with RECO.
