IGNITE has partnered with Humber Advancement and Alumni to provide students with Learning Essentials Support, a new financial support service designed to help students cover the cost of program learning essential items, from $50 up to a maximum of $500 per academic year.

Examples of learning essential items that we support include, but are not limited to:

• Equipment (uniforms, tool kits, cosmetic kits, etc.)
• Software (MyITLab access, etc.)
• Training & Professional Memberships (Suicide Prevention Training, Soundscan membership, etc.)
• Experiential (final projects, field trips, etc.)

Humber ITS (Information Technology Services) will be decommissioning myfiles.humber.ca on November 1, 2022. Clients can continue to access the I-Drive by connecting remotely to Humber’s network (VPN – Virtual Private Network), through the Remote Access Portal. 

How to access the I-Drive: 

1. Launch an instance of your browser 
2. Navigate to the address: myremoteaccess.humber.ca 
3. Log in using your Humber username and password 
4. Under Network Connectivity, click on Intranet (VPN) 
5. To access your I-Drive after you have connected, navigate to //humber.org/shares 

If you are unfamiliar with or have never installed VPN, you can use the Quick Reference Guide to get set up.  

Mapping your I-Drive

To make accessing your I-Drive easier, once you have connected to Humber’s network remotely, via VPN, you can map your network drive from both Mac and Windows devices.

The Math & Writing Centre is pleased to announce free APA and Academic Integrity Workshops. All Humber and Guelph-Humber students are welcome. If you work with students who may benefit from this opportunity, please let them know about it and share the information below:

For the in-person workshops, students need simply to go to the locations listed at the times given (no pre-registration required).

For the online workshop, students can go to our Virtual Front Desk to get help to register.

Counselling Services is excited to announce the return of the Healthy Minds for Stressful Times group for Fall 2022.

This group will provide students with:

• Tools and strategies to cope with stress, anxiety and feeling overwhelmed
• Emotional support

Details:

• Where: Zoom (contact rose.anthony@humber.ca for the link)
• When: Every Thursday, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., beginning October 6 until December 8
• For: Students who are feeling overwhelmed and/or experiencing stress and anxiety

Important Information:

• This is an open group – no pre-registration is required. As of now, there is no cap on numbers but subject to change if required
• Students can come for as few or as many sessions as they would like.
• The room will be locked at 1:45 p.m. SHARP as we do not have time to review curriculum for late arrivers
• Students will be asked to keep their video on in the group as interaction is a huge part of this group (involves break out rooms and skill practice)
