What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a way of focusing on thoughts, emotions, and environment free from distraction and judgement. Practicing Mindfulness builds a skill set to manage stress and anxiety in everyday life.
Mindfulness is for everyone.

Jocelyn Agatha Hezekiah was Chairman of the Basic Nursing Program at Humber College. During her time at Humber, she was voted President of the Registered Nursing Association of Ontario (RNAO). She was born and educated in Trinidad, West Indies. Jocelyn obtained a Bachelor of Nursing at McGill University, a Master of Education at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta.
Jocelyn has had wide and varied experience in nursing practice, nursing education and nursing service. She was the first Caribbean nurse to be elected President of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario where she served as President-elect from 1977-79 and President from 1979-81. She has been a member of a number of professional and government committees concerned with nursing education.
Prior to retirement in June 1997, Jocelyn was Associate Professor, McMaster University, Hamilton. She is currently an international nursing education consultant. Another accomplishment is that of, author.
She wrote a book, published by UWI Press in 2001, entitled Breaking the Glass Ceiling: The Stories of Three Caribbean Nurses.

The Professional Writing and Communications (PWC) graduate certificate students are available for work in full-time writing and communications roles this spring and summer, from May to mid-August, for their work placement.
Third-semester PWC students are able to create documents suitable for a diversity of audiences and purposes using advanced linguistic and rhetorical skills and are prepared to produce work individually or in collaboration.
The work-integrated learning experience should allow students to:
- demonstrate proficiency in adhering to professional writing best practices,
- collaborate with others in a professional setting,
- show responsiveness to business and organizational procedures and protocols,
- apply core communications strategies and skills, and
- show time-management skills by completing assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.

The Degree Breadth Committee is calling for proposals for new breadth elective courses for Humber degree students. For details regarding the process for development of breadth elective courses at Humber, including a step-by-step guide, a searchable inventory of approved breadth courses, a short proposal form, and a variety of resources for developers, please click on the link for our Degree Breadth Committee website at humberdegreebreadth.com.

All students are invited to attend the Equity Workshop Series! The focus of this workshop series is to provide ongoing equity training opportunities for all students. The program goals include:
- Providing students with strategies to embed equity practices into their role
- Encouraging students to see equity as a continuum of learning
- Creating braver spaces for peer-to-peer conversation
There are nine sessions in the series and they are all CCR Certified. Each session will be offered at both the North and Lakeshore campuses. The sessions include:
