Humber College to Host First Robotics Competition

A Vibrant Innovation Hub

The Barrett CTI will be a world-class facility, purpose-built to encourage innovation, applied research, project-based learning with industry and community partners. Instead of traditional classrooms and laboratories, the Barrett CTI will provide 93,000 sq. ft. of open concept gathering spaces, cutting-edge prototyping labs and makerspaces, interactive technology zones, digital media studios and demonstration areas for showcasing new products and technologies.

Solving Real-World Problems

An invaluable resource for companies and communities, the Barrett CTI will bring together interdisciplinary teams of faculty, students and industry experts to solve complex, real-world problems. The Barrett CTI will act as an outsourced R&D department for manufacturing companies, providing a supportive, low-risk environment where they can experiment with leading-edge technologies and transform ideas into operational efficiencies and marketable products and services.

Training Tomorrow’s Workforce

The CTI will provide a stimulating, hands-on learning environment for Humber students, preparing them to become the creative risk-takers and change leaders that businesses need to stay ahead of the innovation curve. The CTI will also offer state-of-the-art training facilities, equipment and customized programs to help manufacturers train their existing employees to work effectively with advanced technologies.
