Real Estate Home InspectionNEW

Certificate of Accomplishment | REHI001

The Real Estate Home Inspection Certificate, offered in partnership with Carson Dunlop, provides learners with the specialized training required to succeed as professional home inspectors. This comprehensive program follows curriculum standards recognized by the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI) and supports progression toward the Registered Home Inspector (RHI) designation.

Through a structured learning pathway, learners complete 10 compulsory courses, each focused on a critical component of residential inspection practice. Upon successful completion of each course, learners earn a digital micro-credential badge that recognizes mastery of that specific inspection discipline. These stackable badges allow learners to showcase their technical competencies and professional development as they progress through the certificate.

The program provides in-depth instruction on residential construction and building systems, including structural components, roofing, exteriors, interiors, plumbing, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, insulation, ventilation, and moisture control. Learners also develop strong competencies in inspection methodology, defect recognition, report writing, client communication, and professional ethics.

Practical training emphasizes real-world inspection scenarios and the ability to clearly identify and communicate property conditions, risks, and maintenance needs to homeowners, buyers, and real estate professionals.

Graduates will:

  • Complete 10 industry-aligned compulsory courses, earning a micro-credential badge for each course to demonstrate verified inspection competencies.

  • Gain education aligned with OAHI membership requirements and pathways toward the Registered Home Inspector (RHI) designation.

  • Train using the Carson Dunlop methodology, a trusted standard in home inspection education across North America.

  • Apply professional codes of ethics and standards of practice when conducting property inspections.

  • Develop the technical knowledge and client-service skills required to identify structural, mechanical, and safety deficiencies in residential properties.

  • Produce clear, professional inspection reports and effectively communicate findings to clients and real estate professionals.

This certificate is ideal for individuals pursuing a career as a professional home inspector, as well as real estate agents, property managers, contractors, and building professionals seeking to expand their expertise in residential property evaluation and risk assessment.
