Ancillary fees support student services and activities distinct from academic programming or the college’s general operating costs. Ancillary fees contribute to activities delivered by Humber and IGNITE, Humber’s student union. These activities include: convocation; student events, clubs and government; athletics’ health care and insurance; and, the construction and renovation of buildings such as student centres.

Humber’s ancillary fees have been established in alignment with the Ministry of Training Colleges & Universities Ancillary Fee Classification Framework.

Athletics and Recreation

Humber Supports the operational cost of athletic programs, equipment and services, and provides athletic and recreational services to students, including intramural, extramural, varsity, fitness and casual recreation opportunities. Additionally, the fee supports the maintenance, enhancement and acquisition of athletic equipment. $75.54

Career Services

Humber Supports students’ career exploration and employment preparation through resources such as a job and placement web portal, resume review/tutoring, interview preparation, job search strategies, career fairs and networking events. $2.25

Student Buildings

Humber Supports new construction and/or improvements to the existing physical infrastructure for non-academic spaces/buildings and informal learning spaces. $41.00

Health & Counselling

Fee Details Cost
Humber Supports student health, well-being and academic success by facilitating on-campus access to health and wellness professionals. Specifically, this fee helps off-set the cost of operating health services at the North and Lakeshore campuses, which include health education, mental health support, addiction and cessation programming, and access to nurses, psychologists, and mental health nurses. $17.60
IGNITE Supports a wellness speaker series to educate students on how they can improve their life through resources and initiatives that address both physical and mental health. In addition, the fee provides access to healthy lifestyle essentials such as a pay-what-you-can soup bar and menstrual kits. $8.50

Academic Support

Fee Details Cost
Humber Provides programs that support students in having successful academic starts and continued academic success while at Humber. Programs supported by this fee include online and in-person orientation, year-long transition support, Math and Writing Centres, online and in-person research support, and peer tutoring opportunities. $34.07
IGNITE Supports an on-campus resolution clinic that guides students on ways to address academic conflict. In addition, the clinic educates and helps students resolve personal conflicts that may be impacting their academic experience.

This fee also funds the publication of the student handbook that outlines academic resources, non-academic resources, and codes of conduct for students on campus.

Information Technology

Humber Supports the development of enhancements to technology services outside of the classroom for students. These services include: the creation and operation of open access computer labs; wireless network across all campuses; enhanced internet performance; access to Microsoft software; and, mobile application support for Blackboard and MyHumber, HMail, and Humber TV. $108.24

Student ID Cards

Fee Details Cost
Humber Used to generate and maintain student ID cards required by students to access services on campus. In addition, these cards may be used to verify identification for exams or other testing. 3.65

Student Achievements and Records

Fee Details Cost
Humber Supports the costs for the planning and implementation of Humber’s convocation ceremonies. Costs covered by this fee include regalia, venue, equipment and furniture rentals, food, staffing and security. $16.24
Gives students unlimited access to their official transcript. It also supports the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process which enables Humber to transmit transcript information electronically to other postsecondary institutions, decreasing wait times for transcript information to be shared. $2.39

Campus Safety

Humber Provides access to programming that promotes the safety, security and well-being of all students. Services and program delivery include: the campus walk program; Humber’s Guardian safety application; sexual violence prevention and awareness programming; consent awareness; conflict resolution; and, emergency communications management to ensure the safety and security of students, employees and visitors. $8.95
