First Five-Day Simulation Session
Sat, February 01, 2020
The first five-day Simulation Session for our first group of learners recently concluded.
We would like to thank participants for their enthusiasm as they applied information and knowledge from their eLearning courses to live, practical scenarios. Led by facilitators who are experts in real estate, these classroom-based Simulation Sessions are one of the most innovative components of the new Real Estate Salesperson Program. These mandatory Simulations provide learners with the opportunity to practice various elements of real estate transactions.
Here’s what learners had to say about their experience in Simulation Session 1:
“Our instructors have been fantastic at breaking things down step-by-step and using pertinent examples from their vast experience to build our knowledge, understanding and confidence as future real estate salespeople.”
“Great experienced facilitators helped guide us through real-life scenarios. Overall, a valuable learning experience and a surprisingly excellent opportunity to network with other students and salespeople-to-be.”
Register for a Simulation Session
Sat, February 01, 2020
Learners can register for a Simulation Session as soon as they receive a passing grade for the prerequisite Course 3 exam.
Please be reminded that registration for all Simulation Sessions is only open until three days prior to that session.
Learners must achieve a minimum cumulative passing score of 75 percent across all assessment questions in order to pass the Simulation Session.
Learners who do not meet the passing criteria, are required to register into a Remediation Day. Information about the Remediation Days can be found on the registration page of the program website. There is a $50 cost for each Remediation Day.

Complement eLearning with Facilitated Review Sessions
Sat, February 01, 2020
We understand that individuals have different learning styles. One way of adding to your learning experience is by participating in an in-person or virtual Facilitated Review Session (FRS).
These optional sessions are designed to provide learners with coaching and direction on the more complex areas of the program. Feedback from learners indicates that having the opportunity to review eLearning course materials with an experienced Real Estate professional has helped to learn and understand concepts and to prepare for exams. They also provide an opportunity to build your network and learn with others in a supportive community.
There are fourteen sessions in total. Courses 2, 3 and 4 have seven, three and four Facilitated Review Sessions, respectively. The FRS is optional to learners who are looking for additional support and are available for a modest price. Learners should select the FRS option when first registering for a Course.
Each individual FRS is three hours long. All sessions address some of the more complex concepts in the e-learning courses under the guidance of an expert facilitator. Activities include small group work, individual activities, guided reviews and debriefs.

Simulation Session Availability
Tue, September 22, 2020
Since the launch of virtual Simulation1 on July 6, 2020, and virtual Simulation2 on August 4, 2020, Humber has welcomed hundreds of learners per month to both weekday and weekend Simulation Sessions.
Recently, the program has experienced an increased demand for weekend sessions. Our administration team has adjusted demand projections and planning to enhance weekend capacity for Simulation Sessions. We monitor learner demand daily and add sessions in keeping with resource and timeline considerations. Scheduling decisions involve, for example, the advanced planning for the real estate professionals who have been carefully selected as your facilitators. In addition, the complexity around the variability of learner progression means that you may need to wait for both Exams and Simulation Sessions. A gentle reminder that once sections and waitlist(s) are full, they do not appear on the registration system.
Please note that the program pre-requisite structure has been reinstated, as indicated by our regulatory body, and it is Humber’s responsibility to ensure compliance. Prior to registering in any given Course, Exam, or Simulation Session, learners must successfully complete the corresponding pre-requisite. For example, before registering in Exam 1, a learner must successfully complete Course 1. Similarly, before registering in Course 2, a learner must pass Exam 1; and so on.
We hope that the above scheduling insights will help build understanding that there may be ‘buffer’ time required between program elements while keeping in mind the pre-requisite structure. Please visit www.humber.ca/realestate pre-registration phase or the Real Estate Salesperson Program Path for more information about program progression.

Changes to Proctortrack
Sat, January 02, 2021
The program office is excited to announce an upcoming change in the way virtually proctored exams are delivered!
Proctortrack will continue to administer virtually proctored exams, however, changes to the process are coming.
Beginning January 2nd, 2021, a mobile phone will no longer be required to act as a second camera during exams. The Mobile Phone App will only be needed to complete the room scan; alternatively, you will also have the option to use a computer webcam. These changes will simplify the process of connecting with your proctor and setting up to write your exam.
Improving the learner experience is important to us and we are looking forward to the upcoming changes in the process of delivering virtually proctored exams. Further details will be shared in a few weeks.
