Emergency Management

Humber College is committed to the safety and well-being of our community members. As part of a specialized, skilled team within the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Management, the Business Continuity and Emergency Management unit is responsible for emergency planning and business continuity for the College.

Emergency planning consists of identifying risks, developing emergency plans, conducting exercises, delivering training, and hosting public awareness and engagement activities, and following the basic foundations of emergency management – prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.

As a key part to our recovery planning, Humber has developed business continuity plans for each Faculty and Department. These plans ensure that, once the initial response to an emergency has ended, each Faculty or Department can immediately implement recovery, or business continuity plans, and get back to the business of delivering education as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions regarding emergency or business continuity at Humber College, please contact Kathy Branton, Manager, Business Continuity and Emergency Management at Kathy.branton@humber.ca.
