Can I designate a beneficiary for an Optional Spousal Life benefit?

Employees cannot designate a beneficiary for an Optional spousal life benefit. By default, the beneficiary for optional spousal life is the member.

If an employee wants to designate someone other than themselves, then a paper beneficiary designation form will be required.
